10 questions to change your thinking (part 1)

I think everyone thinks about where they can improve at some point. Or at least that’s what I like to think. In this post and the next one we are going to expose 10 questions to change the way you think (part 1).

They are questions that help us to reflect and deepen how we think. This approach can help us to implement improvements in our lives, both professional and personal. Growing, for whatever reason, always makes us better.

In this post we will see 5 initial questions that have continuity in the next post.

10 questions to change your thinking

Question 1: What have your mistakes taught you?

To learn from your mistakes, you must first forgive yourself for making them. We often blame ourselves for them and this is an emotional barrier to the improvement process. It is natural to make mistakes, it is the only way we receive feedback and it allows us to improve. We would not be able to build anything if we had not made mistakes in our lives.

But in order to move forward we must let go of the guilt and even the shame that mistakes may have generated in us. This belief system influences our decision making in the future, especially the most important decisions. Learn from mistakes.

Question 2: What is the thought that has gotten the best of you lately?

Stop it, even if it takes mental effort. Once established, think about how it has influenced your behavior. Next, identify the chain of thoughts that has been making you dizzy and making you suffer internally every day. It may be something related to your profession or personal.

Now, confront it with that positive thought that has helped you. In this way, you will have more willingness and courage to face situations.

Question 3: What is really worth focusing on today?

This is a key and much-needed question at the beginning of each day, before you start anything. Focusing on valuable goals in a world so full of distractions is a very powerful skill.

Question 4: What do you appreciate most about your life right now? Why?

As above, this is another critical question every day. Draw happiness from the things and people you have in your life. If you are not grateful for the things you already have, what makes you think you will be happy with more?

Question 5: What concerns do you have pending that you think you should resolve?

Many times we go through life running away from problems and do not accept reality as it is. Avoiding problems causes more pain than the problem itself. Delaying them will not make them go away, it will only make them worse. Even if it is lazy to face it, solving these issues will always give you an important plus.

In the next post we will pose another 5 questions to change your way of thinking.
