8 ways to develop and enhance personal creativity (part 1)

In this new post and in the next one we are going to talk about something super interesting. Specifically 8 ways to develop and enhance personal creativity (part 1).

Creativity is a highly desired attribute in almost all disciplines. Even today it is one of the most demanded skills by self-respecting companies. Those who possess this ability, innate or trained, are often the ones who help solve all kinds of problems or situations. They are also the ones who tend to be proactive and come up with relevant ideas and proposals.

Creativity is undoubtedly a cool indicator. So, haven’t you ever wondered what you can do to be more creative? Undoubtedly, your creativity enriches you in the first place and helps you to expand. This means that you do not limit your ideas, even if you then have to adapt them to the conditions of the particular environment.

The important thing is to be able to create, because besides being a wonderful feeling, you are bringing value to the world. And to yourself. Here are some approaches that can help you develop your personal creativity.

How to develop and enhance personal creativity (part 1)

Alternate new routes with your usual routes

When you choose new routes to go to your usual places, you are simply changing the environment you are moving through. That means you’re going to receive unusual inputs that can be converted into quality outputs in the form of mental suggestions or even ideas. Let’s call it inspiration. Changing routines is hard, go slowly, slowly, slowly, slowly. You will see how interesting it is even if you don’t believe it at first.

Try things you have never dared to try before

Dare with new styles of food that you have not tried, use new ingredients to discover, combine apparently strange things (pure chocolate with extra virgin olive oil?). This step is very easy, but it also requires daring. Simply substituting ingredients or giving a chance to try something you have labeled as rare is enough. And you can do it in areas other than food (drink, physical exercise, reading, series, movies, etc.).

Try to explain situations you have mastered using anything you can get your hands on

Any object you have in front of you is likely to help you explain anything. This way of forcing your creative thinking is brutal. It may seem complicated, but I assure you that you’ll get away with it. And, the more you practice it, the better you get and the more you learn. This point reminds me of a Gamestorming technique called “crazy utensils” that is great.

Come up with ways to call everyday things

Doing the same thing all the time is exhausting. Or at least it seems so to me. This proposal is super fun and tests your ingenuity when it comes to assigning another name to things. Try also with reasonable resemblances, as it is another way to open the creative range.

In the next post, we will continue with other interesting approaches that will surely bring you creative value.
