Don Miguel Ruiz is a Mexican author, writer and speaker of spiritualist or neo-shamanistic texts and themes. In 1997 he gave us a jewel in the form of books entitled “The 4 agreements”, with the essence of Toltec wisdom, to live a full and authentic life. The first agreement tells you: “Be impeccable with your words”.
This proposal is a cornerstone on which to build an enriched existence. Verbal integrity can transform our relationships, our emotional well-being and our own reality.
Our words are more than mere sounds or written symbols. They are authentic vehicles of energy that have the power to build or destroy, to heal or wound. Being impeccable with our words implies using them with wisdom and benevolence. Recognizing their ability to shape our experiences and those of others is an asset of the highest value.

Be impeccable with your words
When we commit to being impeccable with our words, we are cultivating authenticity in our interactions.
In this way, we free ourselves from falsehood and hypocrisy, allowing our expressions to accurately reflect our deepest values and beliefs. This congruence between what we say and who we are strengthens our self-esteem and connection with others.
Consistency between our words and actions is essential to building strong and meaningful relationships. When we keep our promises and speak with honesty and sincerity, we gain the trust and respect of those around us. This sets a standard of integrity that inspires others to do the same, fostering a culture of honesty and mutual accountability.
Our language shapes our perception of the world and, ultimately, our experience of reality. By choosing our words with care and positivity, we can transform our internal and external narrative, cultivating a mindset of abundance, gratitude and possibility. By intentionally manifesting a higher reality through our words, we become co-creators of our destiny.
In the next post, we will continue with the second agreement, “Take nothing personally.”
