The popular video game “The Sims 4” has launched an interesting update for users with new options to customize the characters. This proposal includes hearing aids, surgery scars, girdles and shaping garments, among others. This is undoubtedly a relevant step in promoting inclusion in this game.
Many users who are familiar with this situation have received the news with satisfaction, as they were not being represented. In the case of hearing aids, an aspect that is very close to my heart in my family, this is good news for dissemination and normalization.
Unfortunately, hearing aids, and even more so cochlear implants, are still largely unknown to the majority of the population. Despite this, cases of hearing loss continue to grow and technological solutions are being of great help for many people to be able to hear.
In 2019 we already saw a striking nod from the Disney factory to the use of these devices in their characters. It was specifically in their movie Toy Story 4 (the number 4 thing is starting to catch my attention). For those who still do not know what a cochlear implant is, we are referring to an electronic device that replaces the function of the damaged inner ear.
This device is inserted into the cochlea, which is the deepest part of the inner ear, also known as the cochlea. This element transforms sound into electrical impulses that directly stimulate the auditory nerve, allowing the wearer to hear. I share with you below the post I dedicated to this news.

The game “The Sims 4” has other medical devices in this edition in addition to hearing aids for their characters
Among them, we can highlight the glucose monitors, available in the new subcategory of “medical wearables”.
The headphones are available in 15 different colors and can be placed in the right ear, the left ear or both. The glucose monitors also offer customization options by allowing players to place them on the right or left arm, or on the right or left side of the lower abdomen.
